According to a report by IDC, Huawei now has a strong presence in Europe and is finding a lot of success there because of its Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei P9 smartphones. The Huawei Mate 9 was announced in November and the handset is expected to be released in few EU nations and in China before Christmas. However, US will receive the handset only in January 2017.
Samsung has left some big boots to fill. For the record, Huawei's devices have proved hit-or-miss with Western users.Could the Mate 9 fill the smokey void left by its Korean competitors and become the new king of smartphone?
As per the IDC report, Huawei's success in Europe is taking away share from two other tech biggies, Apple and Samsung. Huawei may make the Mate 9 smartphone available to the US market via AT&T as it is facing a patent problem with T-Mobile. The Huawei Mate 9 costs €699 (US$750) in Europe. Apple and Samsung won't make it easy for Huawei Mate 9 in US territories.
