The approval of of the Huawei Honor V9 from Chinese regulatory body TENAA hints at the impending launch of the new smartphone. Huawei announced that Honor V9 will be launched in its home country China on Feb. 21.

According to the report from Huawei Mall, the name of the phone outside of China will be the Honor 8 Pro. It adds that the company will make that reveal later this month 2017 Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain.

Although Huawei Honor V9 and Honor 8 Pro are said to be the same device, the Russian tech site states there is only one notable difference between the two smartphones. Apparently, one of the smartphones does not sport the logo of Honor on its back cover.

Huawei Honor 8 Pro is said to feature a 12MP + 12MP dual rear camera setup, as seen on Honor 8 along with an 8MP front camera. The TENAA listing reveals the smartphone will have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and run Android 7.0 Nougat. There will be a fingerprint scanner at the back as well.

Although there has been no official confirmation regarding the specs of the smartphone, it has been officially declared that Huawei Honor 9 will launch in China. However, latest rumors reveal that the Honor V9, under the name Honor 8 Pro, is expected to be unveiled for the international market at MWC 2017. The Huawei press event is slated for Feb. 26.
