The Huawei Mate 9 is probably one of the most sought-after mobile releases of this year, and rumors about the device are already pouring in. The latest hints at an extended battery life and quick charging capabilities.

Huawei's main local rival, Xiaomi, recently rolled out two interesting devices, as well. The company just unveiled two flagship phablets: the Xiaomi Mi MIX and Xiaomi Mi Note 2, but despite them being attractive and powerful gadgets, their global availability is somewhat limited.

Other alleged specs include a Kirin 960 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, plus 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. Another suggested feature is a dual-camera setup, providing some form of 4X optical zoom.

Quick charge is a feature that many flagships on the market offer, while battery life depends strongly on usage and other factors, like Android OS version. The Mate 9 is rumored to come with a 4,000mAh battery, one of the most powerful in a smartphone. The phone might be made available in two variants, with the Huawei Mate 9 Pro model carrying a price tag of about $1,300.
