The Chinese Electronics firm unveiled its latest smartphone, the Huawei Mate 9 in Munich last Nov. 9. Mate 9 is designed to challenge global market leaders such as Apple and Samsung.

Mate 9 has launched on the stage in Munich. The latest mobile very much look like its predecessor i.e. the Huawei Mate 8. As the phone has a slightly rounded, wide, almost all-metal back with plastic panels at the top and bottom.

The Kirin 960 inside the Huawei Mate 9 is the latest flagship-grade SoC to debut in a device in 2016. Manufactured by Huawei’s semiconductor subsidiary, HiSilicon, the Kirin 960 employs a big.LITTLE octa-core configuration: four Cortex-A73 cores operating at a peak frequency of 2.36GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores operating at a peak frequency of 1.84GHz. The GPU on the Kirin 960 is handled by the newest ARM Mali-G71MP8 GPU clocked at 900MHz and based on the ‘Bifrost’ architecture.

Huawei still not confirmed about when the Mate 9 and Huawei Mate S2 will go on sale, but it's likely to be at some point in the coming month. The special edition Porsche Design version is going to be sold in European Porsche Design stores from December, the starting of the cheapest regular Huawei Mate 9 is €699 i.e. approximately £630.
