With the first Android update for the Huawei Mate 9 being a great success, now the time has come for the other one. In fact, the new update has been available since January if you wanted to look for it yourself, and now it seems that it’s massively rolling out in an over-the-air manner to all devices.

The build number for the update is MHA-L29C185B172 and has a size of about 511MB. Battery life will also be improved by this update. If you haven’t received the update yet OTA, then you might want to check out Settings > About device > System updates.

This new update bring with it lockscreen control of third party music players, as well as improved touch sensitivity for the display, much to the delight of avid mobile gamers.

As far as past Huawei past updates go, it has become obvious that the Mate 9 doesn’t receive seamless updates, although that should have been the case starting with Android 7.0, and the Huawei P10 has a similar feature. Receive seamless updates basically means that any Android updates that come up would occur in the background and be activated once the phone has been restarted.
