Rumor has it that both variants of the Mate 9 feature the Leica Summarit H 1:2.2/27 ASPH dual camera on the back with 4x optical zoom. It’s certainly going to be a powerful camera, one that’s going to set this handset apart from the competition.

The Kirin 960 brings much anticipated GPU performance improvements compared to its predecessors, which is great to see because that area was always the biggest weak spot for Huawei's in-house chipsets before. This will no longer be the case with the 960, which employs ARM's Mali-G71 GPU, the newest and top of the line offering from the British design house. The Kirin 960 also has eight GPU cores, up from four in the 950 family.

The Kirin 960 however marks the first time that Huawei’s own high-end chips support 4K video recording, Anandtech noted. In other words, expect the Mate 9 and Huawei P10 to support 4K video recording.

Huawei will confirm how much the Mate 9 is going to cost and when it’s going to be released on November 3rd. According to a recent report, the top-of-the-line version of the Huawei Mate 9 Pro might cost a whopping $1,300.
