Huawei Mate S2 and Huawei Mate 9 handsets are having the same components from Huawei P9's playbook and a Leica system with dual rear cameras integrated with  Leica optics. Huawei's Leica partnership created a controversy before, while the P9 became interesting due to its camera features. There are speculations as well regarding the two companies' another partnership for the upcoming Huawei Mate line.

Huawei has yet to come out with a specific unveiling for its new flagship, and the subsequent release dates for its global rollout will have to adjust. Should Huawei opt for a mid- or late December launch for the upcoming Mate 9, it will mean that the global launch of the new flagship will stretch out to early 2017 since late.  Meanwhile, the previous-generation Huawei Mate 8 launched in October 2015 and also made its global rollout during that year.

Aside from that, fast charging, LTE Cat. 12 and CDMA support will also be among the features that further enhance the experience. As for the software aspect, Huawei Mate 9 is believed to come with EMUI 5 on board that is based on the new Android 7.0 Nougat.  However, it remains to be seen it the rumors surrounding the Huawei Mate S2 and Huawei Mate 9 are correct. With the partnership of Leica and Huawei P9, there is likely a chance that another team up would happen.
