To note, the Huawei P9 fingerprint scanner is located at the rear of the device. But based on the leaked photos of the P10, it seems like Huawei will be moving the scanner to the front panel, placing it just below the screen of the unit. According to GSMArena, it will most likely not function as a Home button, only as a fingerprint scanner.

Huawei P10

The company recently released the Huawei Mate 9 and just a few hours ago, it announced that it would sell the smartphone in the US. The company has also released a few other smartphones in 2016 and recent leaks about the Huawei P10 could mean that the company is planning to release more impressive phones to keep competing and maybe become the second largest smartphone maker in the world. Earlier this month, the company announced that it had sold nine million Huawei P9 smartphones since its release. In October, the company also shared that it had shipped more than 100 million smartphones in 2016.

The location of the scanner shown in the previous leak, however, featured a different design. The fingerprint scanner was still at the back portion of the device, not in front like the more recent leak. On the other hand, Android Headlines suggests that the earlier design of the P10 could have been further improved through the course of the development of the device. The news outlet speculates that the P10 could have a different design from its preceding unit.

The picture also shows that the phone has a curved display. There is also a picture of the back of the phone, where the company’s name can also be seen. There is a fingerprint scanner and the dual camera with Leica branding, which has already been featured in some of Huawei phones in the past. The dual-lens Leica camera was one of the most interesting features on the Huawei P9 Plus and the recent leaks show that it could return for the next version.

Rumor has it that the Huawei P10 will have a 5.5-inch quad HD display. It will be powered by a Kirin 960 SoC processor, which will have a 6 GB of RAM. Furthermore, the device is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2017.
