A mere day after Huawei announced the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus flagship handsets, a third model for the series has appeared onine, leaked in a hands-on first-look preview, dubbed as the Huawei P9 "Lite". It's worth pointing out straight away that, ahead of the Huawei P9 launch, both the P9 and the P9 Plus had been heavily rumoured and leaked for a very long period, but we had heard literally nothing about a "Lite" model at all.

Huawei P9 Lite

Set to be called the Huawei P9 Lite, the device will include a 5.2-inch FHD display and only a single rear-facing camera. The standard P9, P9 Plus, P9 Max both sport dual rear shooters, which have been brought to fruition with the help of optics specialist Leica. Huawei has hitherto waxed poetic of the German firm's input, though it remains to be seen whether the collaborative effort lives up to the hype. Already, snaps taken across the globe with the handset have begun to pop up on social media.

The specs are also less impressive than the flagship models. The screen is a 5.2-inch 1080p display, but there's no mention of nits and colour levels. While processors were not mentioned there will be 2GB and 3GB RAM models available and 16GB storage with microSD expansion. Everything is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

Huawei P9 Lite price, release date and even release location are unknown. Though presumably, it won't be too far behind the standard P9 and the P9 Plus.
