Just under two weeks ago, we attended Huawei's launch event for the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Unusually, the company didn't use the event to show off the entire P9 range which will eventually make it to market this year. While we're fairly certain there will be a ‘Lite' version of the P9 (and maybe a P9 Max too), Huawei kept quiet on those. Fortunately, it seems retailers are planning for their arrival anyway.

Huawei P9 Lite

Pricing is listed as $309 in the US or €270 in Europe. Specs listed include a Kirin 950 chipset and a 5.2-inch HD display. Also shown in the listing on the website includes 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory with expansion via memory cards. Power will come from a 2,900 mAh internal battery. Those are the same specs that we heard in the last leak.

The main camera hasn't received a resolution bump (still at 13-megapixels), but we do see a front-facing camera upgrade from 5MP to 8MP.

The Huawei retailer lists the Huawei P9 Lite in the same three colors with the same specs carrying a price of $309. The pricing listed is for unlocked and SIM free versions of the smartphone. With pricing turning up in multiple places, the official announcement of the smartphone can't be far off, we can see Huawei P9 phone is in stock, the price is $660, it seems the P9 Lite will go on sale right after it goes official.
