Huawei has confirmed that it has distributed invitations to the media for an event it is organizing in London on April 6. The purpose of the event is yet to be communicated, but there are rumors that the company launch four variants of its P9 smartphone at the gathering. These four Huawei P9 models are: a regular P9, a large screen P9max, a pocket-sized P9lite and a feature-enhanced model which falls between the P9max and the regular P9.

The underside of the device has one speaker grille and a bottom-positioned headphone jack. The Huawei P9 also features a USB Type-C port for charging and transmitting data.

It's rumored that the P9 will feature a high-end Kirin 955 processor and 4GB of RAM as well as 128GB of inbuilt storage. It'll also likely run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and be powered by a pretty large 3,900mAh battery.

As for the P9's cameras, it apparently packs a pair of 12-megapixel sensors with Leica lenses, thanks to a new partnership between the two companies. Huawei is allegedly planning some unique photography features for the phone though we don't know exactly what it will be capable of.

There have been much talk about the P9, but Huawei is yet to confirm if it is really developing a new smartphone. The Chinese phone manufacturer launched three Huawei P8 variants last year.
