Huawei’s new flagship, the Huawei P9, is set to go on sale in Malaysia on May 28.

Huawei P9

The P9 is the first device the Chinese tech giant and iconic camera company Leica collaborated on, which has resulted in a dual-lens camera. In other words, the phone has two 12-megapixel rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture. The sensor also has a larger pixel size of 1.25 micron for better low-light performance. The front-facing camera is 8 megapixels.

The P9 is powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 955 octa-core processor and features a 5.2in full-HD IPS display. It also has a rear fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C connector and 3,000mAh battery.

Huawei has yet to give an indication on which variants will be available but we are likely to see two configurations – 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.

The price has yet to be revealed but the company is expected to announce it on May 20.

The 5.2in Huawei P9 Lite will also be launched alongside the P9, but the larger 5.5in P9 Plus will only be available at a later date.
