Succeeding the Ascend P7 and Huawei P8 (pictured below) was released in April this year as a thin smartphone made out of premium materials. Not long after its launch, we heard that Huawei was already working on a successor, which should be called Huawei P9.

While some rumors had it that the P9 would be released before the end of 2015, that's not going to happen. According to Chinese website Mobile-dad, Huawei intends to launch the P9 in March 2016 - thus almost one year after the P8, in May release Huawei Honor 8, in the November release of Huawei Mate 9, this is Huawei's 2016 schedule.

It's said that the Huawei P9 will sport a 5.2-inch display (just like the Huawei P8, though we don't know what pixel resolution the new screen will have), while offering a "curved design." It's not clear if the display itself will be curved. The upcoming smartphone should be powered by Huawei's own octa-core Kirin 950 processor, possibly featuring a fingerprint scanner, 4 GB of RAM, and a dual rear camera with laser auto focus, Huawei Mate 8 equipped with Kirin 950 processor, has been unanimously praised the majority of consumers.

A Huawei P9 Max (sporting a 6.2-inch Quad HD screen) could also be introduced sometime next year, but we don't know if Huawei is planning to unveil it at the same time with the 5.2-inch P9.
