OnePlus has been rumored to have the successor of its OnePlus 3 smartphone, OnePlus 4. However, fresh news says that OnePlus will bypass the OnePlus 4 will be skipped and company will launch OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5

Accoding to Chinese culture and values, number 4 is not a number associated with good luck. OnePlus, being a Chinese smartphone company, may follow traditional values and skip OnePlus 4 completely. However, you don't have to worry about not getting your hands on the latest model! The next model will called the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus has had a very impressive 2016 so far. The company’s OnePlus 3 has sold very well and, from out of nowhere, the company released a modified version of the handset just six months after its release in the form of the OnePlus 3T. The OnePlus 3T replaced the OnePlus 3 and adds in a bunch of improvements over its predecessor, such as a larger battery and Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 821 CPU.

Furthermore, the same company that supplied ceramic for the Xiaomi Mi MIX could supply such materials for the OnePlus 5, rumor says. This would not be the first OnePlus-branded smartphone to ship with a ceramic body, the OnePlus X was available in a ceramic variant, so OnePlus knows what they’re doing here. The OnePlus 5 will ship with Android Nougat out of the box, and on top of it, you’ll get OnePlus’ OxygenOS UI, of course. The phone will, allegedly, ship with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. Do take all this info with a grain of salt as this is just a rumor at this point.
